This is a free Google Sheets expense tracker for people who want to see their money without a big budget system. Type your money in for the month. Log each spend in one line. The top of the tab shows what you can still spend.

The problem it solves

Money goes out in small amounts through four different wallets. At the end of the month you cannot say where it went, and bills sneak up on you. This sheet puts every spend and every bill on one tab, one line each.

What is inside

• Start Here tab. Four setup steps, your money in, money to set aside first, your categories and your monthly bills.
• Presets. WFH VA, Freelancer or Student. Pick one and your categories fill in. Or pick Custom.
• 12 month tabs. Safe to spend per day, left to spend, spent this month, bills due soon and your biggest category on top. Your spending log sits right under them.
• Category budgets. Optional. See budget, spent and left for each category.
• Bills you tick once. Type your bills once on Start Here. They show on every month tab. Tick them when paid and they count as spent.
• Spent by week. A weekly aim, so a new week is a fresh start.
• Year tab. Every month, every category and how you paid, all year.
• Fix it box. Quick answers for common problems, right inside the file.

How it works on your phone

Open the free Google Sheets app. Go to this month's tab. Type the date, the amount and what you bought, then pick a category and how you paid. One line. The numbers on top update on their own. No scripts, no forms and no buttons.

The setup is easier on a laptop, but daily use is made for your phone.

Questions people ask

Does it work in Excel?

It is made for Google Sheets and tested there. You can download your copy as an Excel file from the File menu, and the numbers still work. Some colours, charts or dropdowns may look different in Excel, so we only promise full support in Google Sheets.

Can I use it on my phone?

Yes. Daily use works in the free Google Sheets app. To make your copy, open the copy link in your phone browser, not the app, because the app hides the Make a copy option.

What currency does it use?

You pick your currency symbol on Start Here: peso, dollar, euro, pound or Australian dollar. It shows in the headers. Paid in another currency? Type what reached your bank or wallet after fees, in your own currency.

Do I need a Google account?

Yes. A free Google account is enough.

Is my money data private?

Your copy lives in your own Google Drive. We cannot see it.

What if I paid and changed my mind?

It is free, so you never have to pay. If you chose to pay something, you get a full refund within 14 days. No questions asked. Just reply to your receipt or email us.
